I found this article extremely interesting. It is so important that, as childminders, we think twice before reaching for the Calpol. We are required to record any medicines we administer and to have consent from parents for doing so.
So sad to see that so many Sure Start centres are having to close due to cuts. They provide a vital lifeline to some families in need providing parents with information and advice about health, education, childcare and employment, particularly in disadvantaged areas.

Here at Aston Childcare, I take the children to parks and soft plays to keep them active. From about the age of 3 the children all walk on our daily school runs. We also try and make good use of our garden all year round. I ensure babies have lots of space to crawl and walk and I provide safe walkers on which to practice their walking, ball pits and dance mats all to encourage activity and movement.
