As part of our Autumn Themed Arts and Crafts, we recently enjoyed some pinecone painting. My mindees aged 2 years old and 1 years old both gave this a go. Whilst the 2 year old absolutely loved it the 1 year old wasn’t quite so sure!
The children have been busy with lots of Autumnal Arts and Crafts. These lovely felt and glitter leaf shaped stickers used in these lovely pictures were from our favourite Arts and Crafts supplies Baker Ross
One of the most challenging tasks as a childminder, is entertaining children of different ages. I find that Arts and Crafts are a great way of including everyone, whatever their age.
Whilst I supply all the necessary tools and materials to make and produce a craft, the older children can complete the activity all by themselves, however intricately they wish, whilst younger ones may prefer to enlist my help with tricky cutting and sticking. Meanwhile, babies and toddlers can enjoy the sensory and messy play experience of handling different materials and gluing and sticking.
These card wreaths for instance were enjoyed by a 5 year old and a 2 year old:
And these pirate chests and swords were created by a 10 year old and a 4 year old.
